Since its early beginnings in 1988 in Glendale CA., to its relocation to Colorado in
1994, Westar has striven to become the premier production oriented framing
company known for its timely delivery of a quality product. For the client, it's
about Money, Time & Quality "MTQ". What does that really mean? That is the
purpose of this website, as well as giving you insight into our values and guiding
principles.
Our experience in Colorado comes from building thousands of multi-family
residential units, together with banks, clubhouses, shopping centers and numerous
other commercial structures. Our Portfolio section will show a photo journal of
many such projects in the Rocky Mountains and Front Range region of Colorado.
We take pride in meeting our clients needs on time, on budget and with the intent
to exceed their expectations.
Westar uses only nationally recognized companies as our Quality Team of Suppliers who work with us
early on to meet our clients goals. Companies such as Boise Cascade,
Weyerhaeuser, James Hardie, Trex and Real
Trim etc., are the support we use to insure our clients get the best quality
product for the budget they have to work with.
In addition to Westar's quality suppliers are the team of skilled craftsmen that
have been assembled over the past twenty (20) years. The majority of such
craftsmen have consistently been together and learned the most efficient
processes for the most demanding jobs and how to execute them in a proficient
manner. Westar's dedication to unparalleled performance is exhibited by its
commitment to providing full time onsite Project Engineers, bilingual
Superintendants, and limiting the number of projects taken on at any given time.
"The size of the project is not the critical factor; it is the number of projects at any
given time." [Billy Piranian, President]
Westar's owners, Billy and Cary, are both honorably discharged Viet Nam Veterans
and believe from their 68 years of combined experience in framing and
development that the quality of workmanship combined with high paced framing
practices and strong finishing techniques produce the kind of results for their
clients that have given Westar a solid track record for the past twenty (20) years.
Such success, however, is not from just hard work and experience. It also comes
from being an innovative leader in the industry. Testimonials have been
provided to demonstrate how Westar thrives on challenging projects that involve
high levels of difficulty, and logistically demanding projects involving cranes of
varying sizes and types.
More importantly, Westar has learned that pre-design value engineering is the key
for a successful and economic project. Westar likes to work closely with the
General Contractor and its team of professionals in making certain that application
in the field is economically considered during the early stages of planning on
paper. "Every construction project has problems. It is how you attack those
problems and handle them that matters." [Cary Cantonwine, Vice President]
Westar has survived the "best" and "worst" of times in its industry by its
dedication to teamwork on the project not only with the Owner and General
Contractor, but also with the other subcontractors.
The ability to accomplish all of the qualities set forth above has come from the
eagerness to adopt technology in the office as well as on the job. Billy, who
handles the day-to-day business affairs of the office with his office staff, stays in
constant communication with his project engineers, superintendants, general
contractors, suppliers and Cary via all modern forms of communication utilizing email and document scanning for better maintenance of records. Cary, who
handles the day-to-day onsite affairs, is the "value added" component of having
an experienced and knowledgeable owner in the field with "hands-on"
management.
Equally critical as performance is Westar's concern for Safety. Westar has an
exemplary record through its retention of "Safety First" a third-party advisory,
training and onsite inspection firm keeping record of safety violations and the
timely correction of such infractions. Westar is devoted to providing its clients
with an OSHA friendly project second to none. All of Westar's owners, project
engineers, foremen, supervisors and drivers are OSHA certified, and routinely
attend OSHA approved safety courses.
Finally, and probably of greater value, is Billy and Cary's belief that Westar's
existence is not for the mere purpose of generating a profit. Its greater purpose is
to provide for those less fortunate and in circumstances out of their control.
Westar achieves such purpose by its continued involvement in ministries, through
its church—Cherry Hills Community Church, which build and provide homes to the
indigent in third world countries. Please visit our Community Involvement
link to see how you too may be blessed in a profound way that demonstrates we
are all merely parts of a greater whole.
Westar may seem complex at first, but we are merely a company that has learned
through some "hard knocks" that it is not just about us. To sum Westar up in a
nutshell, we are a company committed to:
- Integrity
- Quality of work
- Good communication
- Teamwork
- Safety
- Innovation
- Community
